Milestones Met

I decided not to write lately because there hasn't been much excitement on the health front. That's a good thing.

Yesterday, I visited with the docs and they had nothing but good news for me. First, I met with the Stem Cell doc and he told me that all is going according to plan. Then, I met with the neurosurgeon who chopped on my head last July and he said all looked good from a vascular perspective. Finally, I had another MRI. The drive home was wet, but not slick.

This could be the last trip my mother makes with me to the doctors, now that I can drive. She has made so many sacrafices to get me to Detroit, back home from Detroit, taking time off of work, running errands, and advocating for me with the doctors. She is a real hero.

I can now drive, go in public without the mask on, and I learned that I will eventually be able to study my spanish in a Latin American country. That last point is really important to me for I am hoping to be very proficient in the Spanish language by the time I graduate from college.

I've been busy lately with homework, wedding details, reading my old history texts I never had time to delve into, reading some fiction, cooking stews, following politics, watching '24' and 'Lost' on DVD, and going for long walks/hikes. Katie and I went on a four mile treck through the woods on Sunday. It was a great workout and the trees were all frosty with snow.

Ojala que si! I hope that you do get to study abroad. That would be an amazing experience.

One thing you can do is watch Spanish TV if you have satellite TV, or subscribe to Reader's Digest in Spanish. WalMart also has some magazines in Spanish, too. You could also converse with your "favorite" substitute teacher here. :-)

We're still rooting for you! :-) Stay warm and yes, you are SO incredibly blessed.
